The Brixton Reel Film Festival is an annual event dedicated to working with diverse local communities. We show the best new films and arts, and along the way explore positive images of mental well-being and self empowerment.

2015's Fantastic Events | November 10 - 15

The pioneering film festival celebrating community wellbeing returned to Lambeth with exciting, feel-good FREE events which cheered up November, these included Urban Wotever - a dedicated Black LGBT performance event at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. We had a special free screening and Q&A of the African-Caribbean focused feature Looking for Love (2015) at the Karibu Centre, Brixton. We turned up the heat with a Latin American event and screening of salsa dance movie Ciudad Delirio at the Cinema Museum in Elephant & Castle.

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)

When working with young people, would you recognise if they might be experiencing mental health issues? If the answer is yes, then this is the course for you! It is a basic course for people with little or no training or experience in mental health.
